The St. Clair County Workforce Development Group will make a presentation and answer any questions regarding their workforce training program. This is a great opportunity to get entry level workforce and provide valuable work experience and training some workers would never have the opportunity to receive.

At this months (May) meeting:

The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) of 2014 provides the framework for a unique workforce preparation and employment system designed to meet both the needs of job seekers and those who want to further their careers. The most important aspect of the Act is its focus on meeting the needs to businesses for skilled workers and the training, education and employment needs of individuals.

1. Easily access the information and services they need through the “One Stop” system.
2. Empower adults to obtain the training they find most appropriate to reach and retain self-sufficiency.
3. Ensure that all state and local programs meet customer expectations.
